Château de Lescours stands on one of the oldest estates in the Saint-Émilion appellation, its origins traced to 1341 and the lordship of Pey de Lascortz, squire to King Edward III. Henri de Navarre, the future Henri IV of France, is said to have sheltered here in 1582. Today the property is in the hands of the Chariol family — five generations of winemakers who have shaped its identity over more than four decades. The vineyard covers around 7 hectares of Merlot-dominant vines (80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc), with an average vine age of 50 years. The estate sits within an 80-hectare ecosystem of forests, wetlands, and meadows, with sustainable soil practices at the heart of every growing season.
